Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) is Optional
Customer is liable for full value of the Avis vehicle if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) is not taken. Purchase of CDW/LDW reduces liability to an amount between 3,000.00 BRL and 4,000.00 BRL depending on car group rented in the event of damage caused by robbery, theft, collision and/or accident, fire, or total vehicle lost to the Avis vehicle.
Theft Protection (TP) is included in the CDW
Note: Police report is mandatory for coverage of any loss and/or damage within a maximum of 24 hours. Upon occurrence of accident/damage renter is also required to complete the "Avis Accident Report" form.
Coverages does not include damage to tires, wheels, keys or documents or damage or loss due to natural diaster.
If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Valid driver's license from country of residence is required. This license must have been held for at least 2 years prior to the rental pick-up date. Foreign renters (except residents of Argentina, Paraguay & Uruguay) must also present their passport with an entry stamp of less than 180 days from the rental date. International driving license is required only for countries with non-Roman alphabet. International driving license is a translation only.

Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.
