The best thing about living in Sydney is what you can find just outside of it. You see, all it takes is a 2-hour drive in any direction to arrive at something incredible. So with the keys to my late-model Signature Series Avis car, we headed south. And in next to no time, we were exploring the streets of Bowral and Mittagong, picking up fresh bread and fresher flowers.
That night we stayed at the Mabi Dome at Tanjenong Camp. The views are absolutely incredible there. But while it’s a feast for your eyes, it doesn’t quite fill you up, so we soon found ourselves down at the Taralga Hotel for a pub dinner.
The next morning we got up early to explore Taralga. We pulled over for a roadside morning tea at The Ploughman Cafe, the coffee and muffins were out of this world. Then on the way home, we took a detour to Wollondilly Lookout for a sunset picnic. Now that’s what joy is meant to feel like.
So if I have one piece of advice for anyone reading this, head south of Sydney. You won’t regret it.
